Hey everyone! It’s getting to be the time of year for all sorts of festivities to abound. We’re kicking things off tonight with CoMO SEPTA’s very own Family Holiday Party. All members should have gotten an e-mail about it. We hope to see you this evening for some fun with your whole amazing crew. πŸ™‚ (All links below are to the event’s page on our calendar where you can find more details.)

There are lots of things coming up in the community as well.
Dec 1, 9-11am is the BCFR Cookies with Santa event. It’s specially geared towards the families of those 10 and under who are served by BCFR. There will be fun and crafts and of course –Β  cookies and Santa. πŸ™‚

Dec 1, 10-12pm, Access Arts is hosting a Santa Plate workshop. Access Arts believes that including people of all ability levels is beneficial to everyone, and as such all of their classes are inclusive. If you managed to snag a registration before they were gone, make sure to head to Access Arts tomorrow and get creative! (If you weren’t that lucky, keep an eye out as they do offer fun things throughout the year.)

Dec 6, 5:30-8pm is another BCFR festive event: the BCFR Holiday Party. Everyone served by BCFR and their families are invited to come to the Knights of Columbus Hall for dinner, dancing and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and the Elves. The recipients of the Super Sibs Awards and the Marie Kovar “One Who Made a Difference Award” will also be recognized.

Dec 8, 4-6pm, mark your calendars for Alive in Christ’s Christmas Party. GROW Ministry at Alive in Christ Lutheran Church is hosting their annual inclusive Christmas celebration! Members and non-members of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend. Enjoy a homemade dinner, games, crafts, and a visit with Santa. There will be a mini-concert with dancing and carol singing. Everything is free, so don’t miss out on the fun. I have been to this event with my crew and can verify it’s a good time for all. πŸ™‚

Dec 14, 5-7pm is a great time to join us for Christmas at the Magic Tree. CoMO SEPTA is teaming up with MoDE and the MoDE Foundation to bring you an inclusive holiday event. Gather around The Magic Tree at Cherry Hill Friday, December 14 from 5-7pm. There will be plenty of fun – indoors and out – for the whole family, including cocoa, cookies, even a visit with Santa. All ages & abilities are welcome to attend.

Dec 14, 4:30-6:30pm & Dec 15, 9-12pm Santa Comes to the Thompson Center. This is a great chance for any patients of the Thompson Center to call and get a 10-15 minute private meeting with Santa (who it turns out has had quite a lot of exposure to autism and its “quirks”), and Santa’s elf (who is familiar with sign language and alternate forms of communication.)

That’s what I’ve heard about so far. Do you know of another event that our community might be interested in? Let me know so that I can pass it along as well. πŸ™‚
