We have some news we’re eager to announce: CoMO SEPTA has started a mini-grant program! We are so thankful for the teachers and other staff that work hard for our students. We’re happy to support them where we can. To this end, we’re offering mini-grants for CPS teachers and other staff (OT/PT/SLP, etc) who are members of CoMO SEPTA and who work with students on IEPs or 504s. The purpose of the mini-grant is to provide funding to enrich, enhance or assist the education, inclusion or well-being of students receiving special education services or with special needs. We can’t wait to see the creative ways these teachers and therapists plan to use these funds. 🙂

If you’d like to apply for a mini-grant, you can do so here: Mini-Grant Application Grant requests will be accepted throughout the year. Funds will be awarded on the final day of each month for the remainder of the 2018-19 school year.

If you are not yet a member of SEPTA, you can head here to Become a Member. The cost is $10/year but there are scholarships available to waive that fee so please don’t let cost hold you back.

Most of all, feel free to pass on this info to any CPS staff who you think might be interested. We’d love to get the word out and support as many as we can. Full details of the grant program can be viewed here.

And on an unrelated but just as exciting note, don’t forget our February 19 meeting at New Haven Elementary. We will host the candidates who are running for CPS School Board and have a chance to discuss issues related to special education with them. We encourage anyone who is interested to attend. Hope to see you there!
